MYRE3-2 The Maimed God
The Wizard’s Hand inn is the most famous attraction of the town of Maskyr’s Eye in Vesperin. Both are named for the archmage of yore who willingly plucked out his own eye as a dare to earn ownership of the vale from the old dwarven kingdom of Roldilar. Years later, this legend is the reason that a merchant has chosen this place to hold his auction of the Eye and Hand of Tyr. The Maimed God was known for his sacrifice, having lost his sight to a judgment of Ao and his right hand to Kezef the Chaos Hound before losing his own life in a suicidal fight against demons after he became despondent for killing a friend over a misunderstanding. If these artifacts are legitimate, Tyr’s former followers in the Triad have a keen interest in this.
But they are not the only ones. The Dark Sun was an enemy of the goodly gods from his apotheosis, and he was the one to release Kezef from Tyr’s imprisonment. It is even rumored that his trickery was behind Tyr’s slaying of Helm. The Cyricist Zhentarim in the area are sure to have something up their sleeves.
Comment: Although 4th Edition allows low-level artifacts, the nature of the themes in this adventure makes it more appropriate for the higher levels allowed in My Realms.
